Yes, you can return it at Barnes and Nobles. You will receive the lowest selling price for the item as a store credit if you do not have the receipt.

Normally I'd say as long as you had the recipt you could return any book. But if you bought it off the bargain books shelf, I kinda doubt they'll take it back. Usually those are books that their looking to stop selling altogether or they got them really cheap and are looking to make a quick buck. In the latter case you may or may not see the book there again, if it is there again it will be a bargain book once more. They'll be much less likely to allow it to be returned since they placed it in with the bargain books.
Your best bet is to go to a used bookstore and sell it to them. Who knows, they might even pay you more for the book than you paid at Barnes & Noble if it's in mint condition..
