Why and what does this mean to you?

Hmm...yeah, I guess so. I remember having a crush on a boy when I was five or six. At that age I did not just wake up in the morning and say: "From now on, I'm going to be straight." And as for choosing not to act on it, that's BS because anyone will tell you that regardless of whether or not you're actually DOING anything with the person, you still think about them all the time. If you had a crush on Brad Pitt and he one day showed up at your doorstep and said: "I'm getting a divorce; run away with me," I'm pretty sure you're gonna run.

To me, it means that people are born with a sexual preference toward one sex or the other. It may or may not actually be the case, but I DO know that in my experience, I didn't consciously CHOOSE anything as far as my sexual preferences go. I can only imagine that it's pretty much the same for everyone else.

I suppose attraction is an automatic or natural response. Acting on it, though, is very much a choice.
