I think Christmas is only commercialized if the person is. I am not religious and I am not commercial but I do love Christmas. Its that time of year to just put a little extra into your relationship with the people in your lives. After all life gets so busy throughout the year that I really enjoy the chance to do something great for my loved ones. I think that as Christmas became commercialized it lost its meaning and in that we lost a glorious time to just be cheery.

I don't know, but to me, it should be about spending time with your family and loved ones. It doesn't neccesarily has to be religious, I think everyone can enjoy it.
And it could certainly do without all the last minute shopping, traffic jam, overcrowded malls. Seeing how people are camping in video games shop for hours just to get a Wii, it makes me wonder why these people couldn't just get that thing any other day of the entire year that Wii has been in the market. Why wait till now.

Christmas does seem to be all about how much we spend. Year on year retailers forecast doom and gloom because we're not buying enough and then after Christmas all the news is about how much we've spent in the sales. I only really like Christmas because I get days off from work and can rest!

It is as commercialised as you want to make it. If you have christian beliefs then it is a very special time and I for one would never stop bothering about it.

YES.
My family discussed it this year.
We decided next year we would buy only for kids under the age of 16.
We will get together, share a fantastic meal and sing Christmas carols together.
That's it. Call us scrooges if you wish, but we are fed up with the mentality that we have to spend gobs of money on everybody we know.

I don't know about anybody else, but I love Christmas. I have two grandsons and it makes me so happy when I see them opening their presents from Santa, I think you are being cynical. I don't know about anybody else, but I would certainly bother about Christmas whether it was commercialised or not.

I think the opposite, I might bother with it more if it wasn't so commercialised.
