I have lived with my man for five years and i dont want to sound arrogant but all my freinds say that they cant believe I have going out with him as I am pretty (their words) while he looks like an ageing accountant. I think that is harsh and I love him to pieces and didn't get together with him for looks. He is the sweetest man ever. We are trying for a baby but he is having erection problems. Tonight we went to a party where a guy was trying it on with me and tried to put his hand down my skirt. I threw a drink over him and my boyfreind threw a punch at him but he ended up getting beaten up quite badly (broken cheekbone and jaw). He looks a right mess and is at his lowest as he doesnt feel like a real man as (in his words) he cant **** me or stick up for me. He wants me to leave but I love him. How do I get his self esteem back up

Stay and tell him you love him. Then show him you love him.

Your right. This is a self esteem issue. His. Not yours. You do everything in your power to make him feel loved. This is a man you find attractive. Some men have this idealism that they have to be our protectors. He obviously believes that. Right now his ego is a little bruised. You just need to give him a little room to sort it out. Some men also believe fighting involves strength. That is not always the case. It involves wits and skill. He just has to see it from another angle. What matters is he stood up for you. He didn't stand down. He failed to see that side.

As far as his erection problem. He should consult with a Urologists to make sure he is okay. Sometimes erectile dysfunction can indicate a medical problem. He might also be intimidated by you. He may not feel he is a worthy enough lover for you.

Probably not the best idea to have your boyfriend at those types of parties while his self-esteem is low. Your friends don't sound like the best of buddies when they don't encourage your happiness and in fact try to give you reasons to stray. Sounds like you need to spend quality time with just the two of you and stop letting the outside influences in. Marry him BEFORE you have a baby. Make it a real family for him. Security can mean everything to some people.

Since you love him stay with him. It is about what you see and feel for him. You decide what traits in him you like and are worth staying for. There are a lot of us that would get our but kicked but be a lot of fun to be around. He can talk to his doctor or just talk to you about what turns him on the best and i'm sure you would do what ever to make it happen. This is always better when the two work to make it that way.

Get him to a doctor first - eliminate the possibility that it's a physical problem. If it's not a physical problem, time for a trip to a shrink. It's a touchy issue, particularly for men.

Also, no parties with drunken idiots hitting on you. That will only make him feel worse.

First press charges against the guy who felt you up, second backup your guy when he gets into a fight for you.
