It is surprisingly warm if the igloo is constructed properly. 2 Inuit men can fashion a good igloo in 20 minutes. The snow block, that is used, is of a specific type that is light, very strong, and made from wind packed snow that resembles styrofoam block in consistency. Ice is not used for igloo constyruction. It does not insulate well. It is also too heavy. One slab of ice is sometimes installed, in the igloo, to function as a window. The sleeping platforms (benches), are raised and are located at the interior periphery of the igloo interior. People sleep in their outer parkas, and there is a fur blanket(s) placed between the person and the surface of the sleeping bench. A deep hole is dug in the center of the igloo floor and it tends to collect the denser colder air, and keep it below the living/sleeping quarters. An oil lamp or two can give off considerable heat as well as some light. The ambient temperature of an igloo can easily be 3 or 4 centigrade degrees above zero, when the temperature, outside, may be 40 or 50 below zero, centigrade.
It can be a real life saver, and also comfortable.

I can honestly say I have NEVER wondered what sleeping in an igloo is like, and expect I never will--except NOW, maybe just a little, since you asked the question.....

I would say igloos are like houses but are made of ice so it would be like sleeping in your normal house!
