You need a 2 pole breaker for 240 volts. It is basically two 1 pole breakers tied together. It is very dangerous to use two regular single pole breakers because if one trips the other will not.
Be certain you have the proper sized breaker for the wire you are using. Undersized wire and an over sized breaker is a recipe for a fire that your insurance company will not want to pay for.
There are a lot of good DIY books on wiring. It is a good idea to read up on how to wire a range and be sure you are doing it to code. Some cities also provide this information on their websites.

HI...NO.. You would hook-up a 240 breaker. If your house is already wired it should be the main switch for the house usually in the basement on a wall.. if you open the door to the box you'll see it right in-front of you, it'll be the largest breaker on it's own.. Any electrical store will have this breaker or hardware store, shut off all power before hooking up and make sure your not standing in water and/or it isn't present anywhere around the area your working in..
This is something I would have someone knowledgeable in electronics do, someone who's done it before...

Two single breakers are very dangerous because if one trips (or is shut off) and not the other, then you have live power in the range when you thought it was dead. And the wiring for an oven is very heavy and under current rules you have to run 4 wires - in the USA Red, Black, White and Green or Bare. The outlet must have 4 prongs, not the 3 used before 1999. If you have to ask this question, then you need to hire someone.

The oven has the amps it uses stamped on a rating plate. You would need to buy the proper TWO POLE breaker for the amps rated. Also since you are not even sure how to do this, It is best to call an electrician.

Call a electrician!! You have to get the proper voltage breakers and use 2 breakers linked. 240 volts can kill you and burn your house down if done wrong so call a pro.

Some ovens require as little as 20amps. Using two single pole breakers will work but you probably ought to acquire a double pole breaker rated for the appliance, e.g., 50amp oven gets a 50amp double pole. Ovens also require a neutral for the 120 volt electronics. Thus all ovens should have a 4 wire, that is, two hots, a neutral and a ground.

Like the man sez1 If you haven't done it before, call an electrician , have it done properly so that you meet the fire and building code of your community. In the event a fire occurs, the insurance company could refuse your claim. Is it worth the risk?

That's simple. You want a 220 volt breaker.(double breaker)I believe it would be 40 amps. Hook the red wire to one side of the double breaker, and the black wire to the other side of the double breaker. The white(neutrel) to one busbar and the ground (bare)to your other bus bar.

Get a licensed electrician and make sure he gets a permit from your city. This is not a project for you. Do not try to do this yourself. It is not an appropriate do it yourself project.
