Because our society has decided that prisoners must have top quality medical care right up to the end. I wonder how many of those getting sterile injections sterilized the weapon they used to kill their victims?

to be sure that there is nothing on the needle that could prevent the lethal injection from working properly.

yes its stupid but its a compulsory medical procedure required, as followed by the government law. all needles should be sterilize.
