I have been in the Atlantic Ocean, in three different places, I have been in the Pacific Ocean in two different places. Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia. And Long Beach California, and Huntington Beach California. It is a lot of fun. I love the oceans. Both east and west coast. It doesn't taste very good, so don't drink the water. But there is a lot of fun to be had out there in the deep blue. Well, it doesn't really look like a blue like on t.v. At least not where I've been, it's more of a greenish/grey. And when the waves hit the beach, depending on where you are, there is a sea foam or little bubbles that make a foam like appearance. It's a lot of fun. You should go sometime. It is a blast!
You ROCK, if you go, take me!!!

The ocean is so very beautiful no matter where you go to see it. It can be teal blue like it is in the Caribbean or green like it is here in California. The waves can be white if the sea if rough enough or the waves can have a gentle roll to them. Here in California, the ocean is pretty cold for swimming except in the south of the state in the summertime. The best place to swim in my opinion is Hawaii where the water is really warm. No matter what, make a visit to an ocean sometime in your life.

IT is beautiful. Like you are standing at the edge of the continent. It is huge, eternal almost. The sounds are calming, the smell is salty. You realize just how insignificant you are, standing at the water's edge, having little wavelets run over your feet, listening to the sound of the gulls screaming overhead. You also are in awe of the beauty of this planet, watching the waves curl, racing each other to shore......you also are amazed at the power of the water, the force that it crashes over your body, onto the shore, or when it softly tries to pull you out further, toes grabbing for the sand.

It is truly awesome to behold.

it is beautiful. Please see the Pacific someday, you love it. Yes I have swam in the ocean it is gorgeous. Make sure you see it the first time with someone special and be respectful to nature. Swimming with dolphins is fun too you should also see SeaWorld. There is also a big aquarium in Spain.

I went there yesterday, it was FANTASTIC.
As to whats it like?
Just imagine looking at a vast expanse of water the seems to go on forever, thats cool & refreshing to jump into on a hot day ( i'm going to be there for tonight, new years) it's going to be around 43 deg C/ 110 deg F here in Melbourne today.
So the beach is the go for tonight.
Happy New Year everyone

Yes, I have. I lived on the east coast for years. You are very boyant due to the salt in the water. It's like swimming in a giant lake full of tears.
