That's what it seems like to me :) People use the word just way too much!

Yeah, it is!
I admit, I'm guilty of using it alot...
Like with my family, when they are being nosey & wont leave me alone, I'm like "Gosh! Freakin' stalkers!"

I, erm, well I might, possibly, MAYBE be helping my friend stalk his crush...
But its not like serious! We'll just take pictures of her when shes not looking, and create fake a marriage license, and find her last name and phone number....But not in the scary way! lol.

So yep, I'm soo guilty of overuse of the "S" word.
& thats bad, because it takes away the severity of the word.

Have you ever decided you prefered to not associate with someone for your own reasons but that person would not take "No" for an answer? Or had a disagreement with someone and they felt it necessary to keep after you regarding the matter after you felt the matter was over? When anyone is unwilling to give you your freedom to move about without bothering you, send unwelcome mail or e-mails, or bother you at work or home just because they want to be "friends" you are being stalked. I personally had a gun held to my head simply because I didn't want to date a young man many years ago. Unless you know the feeling of losing your freedom because someone cannot accept the fact you want to make your own decisions concerning your life you can't understand stalking. And to make it worse too many times law inforcement just ignores the victims pleas sometimes until it is too late.

maybe there's just too many stalkers?

i think it's funny when a little kid has a crush on someone and next thing you know they're stalkers....so it's often misused but in all reality stalking is an issue and it's illegal for a reason- because it's unpleasant and happens a lot!

Depends on what you're talking about. If your'e talking about someone merely having a crush on another person, and they call them all the time and try to see them all the time..well, to me that's just part of puppy love. If you're talking about someone that obsesses over another person to the point where they invade their privacy through many acts and refuse to stop, and don't think it's a problem..that's stalking.

Lots of words are overused, because many people are only familiar with around 35 words in all.

I don't think so, well at least I don't hear that often. Maybe it's because the people I stalk don't know I"m stalking them.
