It's hard to build up your customers and actually make money with it but it is possible. You just have to work at it for a while and try to get as many customers as possible. Believe me.

You can only buy Avon through a representative. Some cities have an Avon store, but only one, and it's run by the representatives. You need to build a customer base. This means you need to know or meet people. Stop people at the mall and talk to them about Avon. Keep books with you at all times. Talk to your friends. Usually people don't call you. You need to get numbers or email addresses and get in touch with them before your order is due and ask if they want anything. I only sell at the restaurant I work at and the one my husband works at , and each order is about $400 dollars so I would make approximately $150 give or take, depending on what products I sold. The way to make more money is either to have more customers, because not every customer is going to buy every time you have an order. Or to enroll other people and then you can start making a percentage of their sales also, as long as you keep your sales up. Its not a scam but you need to have a little business sense, and know a little about sales techniques. The youravon.com website has on-line courses you can take for free, that will help you to learn how you can increase your sales.

Hello:

I have been selling Avon on and off since 2000. Selling Avon is awesome and since this was my third time doing it, I decided to go for leadership as well as sales. So far I am doing average. My first leadership check was on $90.00. Two weeks later I earned $323.00. The following two weeks, I had slow sales so my check was only for $102.00. Avon has an unlimited earning opportunity where you can earn from your own personal sales, plus earn from your downline. The best part about it is that there is no money up front except for your start up kit (Only $10) and if you choose to buy additional business tools like books and samples. The reason why I kept doing Avon is because I didn't have a lot of money to start and they provide a generous credit line so that you pay Avon when your customer pays you. As for starting out, you receive an automatic 50% comission the first campaign order then 50% the next three as long as your sales (retail amount) is $50 or more. That is easy enough. The first person I asked was my mother. That's what we do when we are kids, and I did it also as an adult. Her orders alone generated over $400 retail. Avon is awesome. The only issue that I repeatedly run into is the "back order" issue. When my customer wants to order, sometimes what they want is not in stock and I loose the sale because they do not wish to wait. Also, Avon has a 100% guarantee. I got burned by a customer who ordered over $100 worth of product, stuck her finger and used every one, then 3 days later asked for her money back. I already used the money! So I did get credit back for the wholesale cost but I lost my profit. Those are the only two issues that I have really had with Avon. The only reason I stopped the first two times is because I was having family problems. Avon can be a full-time job that can pay very well but you do have to put in the work. By work, I mean Marketing, Recruiting, and passing out books. The best way to save money on buying books is to email your website (which can be free). The website is provided free as long as you have an order through the website every campaign. That way, if you cannot get a book to someone or do not want to pay for the book, they can just shop off the website.

No, it's not a scam. It's just up to you how hard you work if you want to see some money coming in. Don't worry, you'll get your checks coming in.
