I was eleven when my parents got divorced. Not a fun experience, so I'm sorry. My father and mother both acted like a couple of jerks. You don't understand now, but going through a divorce is emotionally draining, stressful, hurtful, along with a lot of other negative emotions. This is what you do. Next time your Dad says something out of turn, you need to tell him he's hurting your feelings. Sometimes even adults mess up and don't realize it. I didn't tell my Dad what I thought of his actions until I got older, and I really lost it. I screamed at him. I cried. He cried. We didn't talk for a while.
I don't want your or your father to go through the same thing we did. If you tell him now, it'll stop him from being a jerk later. My father and I have a great relationship now because I was honest with him, and in turn he was honest with me. Sometimes, we all are told when we are wrong. It's part of being human.

I'm 13 (wish I was 12 cause that's what I keep tellin' people) and I feel the same way but, be the bigger person. When that fails talk about it to yourself and get all pissed off. Then scream into a pillow for awhile. You'l be better after that. If not sorry for the wasted time.

It depends is he being a jerk because you are being bad, or being a brat, And if he is being a jerk not lovingly or jokingly than I would go see a school counciler or a counciler, your mom, or social services but that should be a last resort

Folks tend to get on your nerves sometimes, and it's okay to resent that.
But, to maintain that calm that lets you just move on, it's important to think about what you're going to say before you say it.
Picture yourself saying it. Picture your dad's response...is it worth it? Probably not.
Just breathe, think, and decide the right path. You'll like yourself, and you'll feel a lot better about the whole thing.

im 12 to, but i dont have a dad, but if i did i'd probaly yell at him untill i got my point across, i kno it may sound stupid since i really dont kno wat im talking about but i do it with my mom and in the end all she wants 2 do is talk it out untill we get it solved...if hes such a jerk that u dont want to work it out then just ignore him and see how things go that way.

You can maybe talk to him about the way you feel when he does certain things. Hopefully he will listen. Talk to both your parents about the way you feel. They both should at least listen to what is on your mind. Good Luck.

it's hard growing up... living with your parents. sometimes they can be jerks, but you just have to realize that they have to be to raise you right... i realized this once i was 18 & moved out. ...you will too. so for now, you just gotta tough it out.
