I am required to read the following novel in order to do a series of journal entries for an advanced placement english class. I read the book, but i'm having trouble analyzing what i've read and i don't have a whole lot of time left.

I'm desperate!

if anybody has read this book & understands , i would really really appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to explain the what exactly the author is telling about.
