I know I threw a rod in my 1990 honda accord, the question is how difficult is it to install an engine? Also, how much should an engine cost for this model car? Should I consider any other aftermarket engine? Open to suggestions, thanks!

Depending on your cash flow might find one at a salvage yard from a car hit in the back or on the doors. These engines are almost indistructable. You should get a pretty good deal on one. Hope someone else can give you an answer about a rebult one.

i go with the answer that if you are asking then you need to let someone else do this. The same salvage yard you buy from might install for you. How do you know it is the rod? If you are not sure as to how to change the motor did you come to this? If you buy a running car of the same year just mark all and take lots of pics but still some can be different on the same year car. It was a chore for me to do a body swap on an 86 yota.

since you are asking then its not that easy and for the price call a few local shop and ask they could tell you more .... the prices will be better in your town ..... and id junk it and buy another for a 90 model the price of a used car would be cheaper

Engine swap is not that difficult but unless you have actually done it at least once I suggest you enlist help from someone that's REAL handy with tools and automobiles.
