I am in the market for my own apartment and the rental company that my mom used to rent from (for 10 yrs with a couple of late payments here and there) is still in business and they are a good company to rent from, well my question is with me being someone with no rental history can this landlord use any of my moms negitive rental history with them against me after they find out my old address is where my mom rented an apartment with them?

No, they cannot comingle your mother's credit record with your own. That you lived with her doesn't mean that you share her poor credit record.

No, they can't judge you based on your Mom, thats a form of prejudice, though I am sure some do it. They really can't. With no rental history though you might need someone to sign the initial lease with you until you've established a payment history.

no, unless she is your co-signer but since its in the past it shouldn't be a problem anymore. and usually if you have no credit you need a co-signer to get a place

no. unless you were on the lease as a lessee or co-tenant, or unless you list your mom as a co-tenant or co-lessee.

Good luck.

No, won't even think about your mother unless you want her to co-sign.
