In My opinion,it was either Jimi Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Jimi Hendrix just was pure amazing.The guitar was just like another limb.And he was self taught,which amazes me.
And Stevie Ray Vaughn is just a phenomenal guitar player.And my mom met him,and said he was just a real down to earth guy.And he played the guitar like no tommorow.
Oh,and whos the greatest band of all time?I say probably the Beatles or the Ramones.

Jimi was a God. My dad saw him in WoodStock and he said it was the best he'd ever played. I also think Slash is a pretty good guitarist. And personally i think Metallia is a great, great, great band, even if they only played for the money.

Slash is my favorite guitar player. His soaring solos are amazing.
I also like Mark Tremonti of Creed and Alter Bridge fame. His unique sound is beyond awesome!
Update: CREED is my favorite band of all time. Tremonti's guitar style mixed with Stapp's vocals still blows me away. (Here comes the thumbs down from a lot of people...)
