WHITE BLONDE Highlights on DARK BROWN Hair?(pics) Yes or No?If not, what color would look good?

Question

I want to change my hair(look) before I come back from winter break!My natural color is dark dark brown and I've dyed/highlighted my hair many times.Everytime I go to the salon to highlight my hair and tell them to make it light brown, it always turns orangish, or doesnt change that much at all. and I look so bad with orange hair. This is me on the right below with dark brown hair.

but Im sick of having plain dark hair. So I was wondering if I should get platinum/white blonde highlights. Not chunks of it, but just a little. like my friend has it below

Is it a good idea? if not, then what color should I make it? Everytime I go and tell them to highlight it light brown. it ALWAYS turns out orange brown. I dont want to dye it because, my face stands out more with a darker base. thanks!

yeah that doesnt look bad, but i would stick with like a carmel color. : ]

i like the white blonde highlights. It adds depth and dimension to dark hair, for a really cool effect. I'd say go for it.

if ur not sure about your own hairdresser try going to a different one because u need to make sure u and your hairdresser are on the same wavelength. I like your friends hair alot- but make sure the highlights are only as thick as hers. I have a feeling if you made them thicker you'd look like a skunk!

I think that your natural hair color is very pretty! Personally, I wouldn't put blonde highlights in it... maybe some honey brown highlights. Hope I helped! :)

Get a like red plum color as your very bottom layerr then highlight the rest with your platinum blonde...it'll look better.

i think if you ask for brown and it goes orange,
you should probably go to a different salon because it doesnt seem they know what they're doing.
so, at a new salon i would go with a light brown.
and hopefully it wont go orange

well if it wus me i probably wouldnt do white blonde id do more of a red or maybe a carmel color!!! ; )

idk if platinum blonde would look good. i think that you should get a lighter shade of brown highlights, that way your hair is lighter, but not too drastically
