my browser on my computer was hijacked for the first time earlier today and I have done several systems scans of my computer and have been unable to remove threats found by the scans because it says that in order to remove the threats i must first purchase a liscense what does this mean? I was also wondering if I could download antispyware for free and have the threats removed free of charge but i don't know how i would go about in doing this as I don't know a whole lot about computers thanks for your help!!

I hope you used a legitimate virus/spyware program to scan you computer. I would not recommend you download a program from the web and especially since your browser was hijacked. If the program is telling you to purchase a license it is most likely the program that hijacked your browser. Best thing to do is to buy a legitimate program and use it to remove the bug. The best thing to do is probably to take it have someone who is computer savvy to take a lot at it and fix it or take it to a computer repair store.
OR you can try to use program and boot your computer up in safe mode by pressing F8 which will enable you completely remove the bug.
I recommend using Norton 360 in the future to protect your computer.

These programs are a scam! They will lie to you by generally telling you they either found stuff that really isn't there then asking for money to remove these fake items. Sometimes they will steal your payment details.

Try Windows Live OneCare. It gives you a free 90 day trial, then costs $50 per year. It's the best all around computer protection I have ever seen. Here's the link: http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/default.htm
