y=3/2x+3 multiply everything by 2
2y=3x+6 subtract 3x from both sides
-3x+2y=6 multiply everything by -1
3x-2y= -6

y = 3/2x + 3
is a standard form for a line in geometry:
(3/2) is the slope of the line (how fast y increasses when x increases by 1) and +3 is the intercept: where the line crosses the y axis (where x=0).

For the "other" standard form (getting rid of the denominator):

Put everything on the same denominator (here 2 will work fine -- remember that 2/2 = 1).

(2/2) y = (3/2) x + (6/2)

multiply everything by 2 (gets rid of the denominator)

2 y = 3 x + 6

Bring x to the left (or subtract 3x from both sides, same thing):

-3x + 2y = 6

(you can leave it like this or change all signs by multiplying by -1 everywhere)

3x - 2y = -6

They are all different ways of writing the same equation. People normally do not like to begin an equation with a negative sign so the last one is the most popular.

X by 2
2y = 3x + 6
-3x + 2y = 6 is the answer

By the way y=mx +c is called the slope intercept form
and ax + by = c is called the standard form where a and b are whole integers.

y = (3/2)x + 3 [ This is the correct expression]

Then multiply all terms by 2

2y = 3x + 6 => 3x - 2y + 6 = 0 or [3x - 2y = - 6] ≡ [- 3x + 2y = 6]

You have two right answers.

The first one is what you get when rewriting the equation so that the "X" term has no denominator.
The second one is if you don't like "X" being negative. Whichever preference your teacher has will be the "correct" form.

As far as I'm concerned, it already is in the "standard form" of y = mx + b

y = 3/2x + 3
y - 3/2x = 3
2y - 3x = 6

OR

3x - 2y = - 6

Depends upon the taste of the beholder.

y= 3/2x +3.
2xy= 3 +6x.
2xy -6x=3.
2x ( y-3) =3.
y-3= 3/2x. The third answer is right.
