If you're looking for something "original", then this would be a good name. The U.S. Social Security Administration keeps track of the popularity of names given to both boys and girls and Espn isn't in the top 1000, even going back 15 years. Emily and Jacob are the top two names, and have been for the past decade or so. Prior to 1950, the two most popular names were John and Mary. After that, people started getting a little more creative.
But, there's only so far a person should go with the creativity of another's name. Remember, names have meaning. Even the traditional John means "God is Gracious" in Hebrew. Who would want to be known as "Entertainment and Sports Programming Network "? That's just setting them up for lots of teasing on the playground. Do you really want that for this child?
I'd suggest keep looking. http://www.babynames.com/ is a great site that provides a lot of information about the meaning and origin of different names.

NO, why would you do that to a child? Ever think what the name calling would be. He has to live with that his whole life.
Get a baby book and look for other names; maybe name the child after a relative or someone famous. But not Espn

You could try those as his initials. I think that's cool! But if you made his first name ESPN his middle name would certainly have to be something that would make a good nickname. Or, whatever his name is when he's born, you could make ESPN his nickname. I like ESPN as his initials. For instance:
Edward Scott Phillip Nathan.
By the way, as somebody mentioned earlier, I like EStePhaN too. It's kind of like the reason HoTMaiL became named hotmail, to contain the letters HTML.

What the heck?! Are you on drugs? That is HORRIBLE!!! Espn is a sports channel, not a name. What name(s) is your mom thinking of? Those are probably alot better than what you picked. With a name like that, the kid is gonna be teased its whole life.

I don't think so. Try giving the baby a couple middle names so his initials are ESPN. Like Even Steven Peter Nicholas.

I actually know someone who named their baby ESPN. I think it is fine your baby won't be the only one. Add another letter to it or something.

Maybe not ESPN (if you mean the sports channel)...if you're even being serious. If you really like sports just suggest names of athletes you like...

No. You're kidding, right?
However, there is an obscure Scandinavian name Esben. I'm not sure it's the best choice, but it's not as preposterous as naming your new little bro after the sports network.
