I am sorry to say but this sounds like a side effect of antidepressants, the ssri kind. LOL
I am not a poet, sorry. I could not help remembering the drum beat as the side effect...!! !

It reminds me of the movie Legends Of The Fall...
I've never been in love but look foward to it one day and this kinda gives me an example of it.
