my son has alot of books and enjoys looking and "reading" them with me and he has 2 in paticular that he enjoys the most and when I name the titles of the book he goes and searches for them in the pile and brings it to me! I just thought that was impressive! Is this "normal" around this time? I just found it advanced, but I am new at this.

I know he is not reading the titles, but just the fact that he recognizes it is surprising to me.

Yes and no. Babies love the repetition, and they totally figure things out without you even realizing it! Yes, it's wonderful that he recognizes the words that you are saying as the titles to the books, but no, it's not like he totally understands all of it. Does that make sense? It's so awesome when you realize that he gets it, isn't it?! It's a great time to start baby sign language, he'll probably pick it up quickly. Goodluck!

That is pretty awesome! I'd say he's advanced for his age...but I doubt he's recognizing the words on the book when he looks for them...probably just the pictures.

Probably a little advanced, but children are truly amazing sometimes. They are very observant and see the little things that we don't. He is very interested in books, so it is easier for him to remember words associated with each one.

yeah this seems advanced to the norm 10 month old but thats a good thing! as you know hes not always going to be lacking in things when he is older! dont worry about it! and the norm is only a average age!

you must read a lot to him, huh?! that sounds like a good achievement, congrats on your smarty pants!
how's he doing in rest of his developmental milestones? my daughter did really well in her motor skills, but her language was poor till we started concentrating on it more. now, at 9mos. she's not only trying to walk/cruise, but she's also babbling up a storm. so while this is exciting, dont lose track of other milestones.
