As the Christmas season begins on Christmas day and is 12 days long, the decorations stay up until the 12th day which is the feast of the Epiphany. (Jan. 5th, sometimes called three kings day). I know the secular/retail world would have you believe that the Christmas season is a countdown to Christmas and the 25th is the last day of the season, but they would be wrong. The preceeding weeks coming up to Christmas day is the season of Advent. We are now in the Christmas season, so enjoy it.

I didn't put up too many this year, but with a few exceptions I will take down most of them on Jan 1. I have a few that I leave out all year. Two special snow globes and a small had carved wooden Santa

I usually take down the tree and all the decorations the day after New Year's (January 2nd) but today I was tired of looking at everything and the tree was really dead...and so, it took me all day long, but I finally got everything down and put away! *sigh. I did it and I'm glad!

The "official" date for taking down decorations is January 6th. If you are in such a rush to take them down, why didn't you do like me and not put any up in the first place.

Three kings Day is Jan 6Th. The day after is when trees are taken down in Europe and Latin America. Seems here in the USA its taken quicker. Put water in the tree and enjoy it a little longer.

My Christmas decorations will probably come down in about a month. My parents are in love with Christmas, and only when the tree becomes a fire hazard to they through it out.

I took mine down already. I did that today. You know they say it's bad luck to go into a new year with your christmas decorations up.
