If her poop is not formed and is like putty, she IS NOT constipated! Formula fed babies have firmer stools as thick as the consistency of peanut butter! Unless she is pooping hard, small, DRY pellets, there is nothing to worry about! Trust me, I have 3 children who I thought were all constipated, as they were on soy, which is known to do that, because their stools were very formed, I'm talking like adults poop, and they are fine and the pediatrician always told me they were fine. My 9 week old currently goes once every 2-3 days and I was told it is ok from doc! I know your concern as I have been there, but she will be fine! Some things I was told to try was 1 tsp. light or dark Karo in bottle 2x a day, or 1/2 tblsp. prune juice in bottle 2x a day. The prune juice helped for my little one. Good luck and please do not worry! Take her to pediatrician if you can't get any rest over it, this will make you feel better! Take care!

My daughter was the same way, she used to scream bloody murder when she had to poop, it nearly killed me because I didn't know what to do. With her being so young the only thing that I would suggest is the thermometer thing. Once she gets older you can feed her prune baby food, it works wonders. Another thing that worked well for me was infant suppositories, it causes a bowel movement within 15 min. (it took my daughter hours sometimes but it worked none the less). But I would consult your doctor before using them, I didn't start using them on my daughter until she was about 5 months and every baby is different. Good luck, hope this helped

Contact your pediatrician. You probably need to switch the brand of formula. Breast fed babies usually have more bowel movements than formula fed babies. Do not use fruit juice, it will make it worse, and water is not recommended at her age. Feeding a 2 month old fiber is hardly a good idea either. I can't believe some of the answers you have gotten from these ppl! Also, try not to do the thermometer thing very often, otherwise, it will become more and more difficult for her to have a movement on her own. Oh, and please, do not give your infant a suppository.

First I would check with your doctor to see if the formula can be changed. The formula may be too heavy for her. Try a little sugar water (not a lot of sugar) or some form of watered down apple juice. You also may try making her formula with a bottled water instead of tap water. Sometimes the tap water from the kitchen sink can be too hard on their tiny systems.

when my babies were little my Dr always told me to put a little Karo syrup(the clear brand) in their bottles. (It is with the pancake syrup) also you can go to the pharmacy and they should be able to tell you where the baby suppositories are. They are really soft and skinny and long so you don't have to worry about inserting it in all the way. you can just hold onto it sort of like a thermometer. You really should call the Dr. but this should definitely get you going in the right direction.

My youngest daughter had problems with this as well. Try giving her a very water downed bottle of apple juice. If not, call the Dr on Monday to see what they suggest.

OMG that is so sad. But um I think you should talk to a doctor about that because I really dont know what to do for a little baby. Talk to your physician about that ok. I hope her heart and her constipation gets well.

I would call and talk to your doctor to see if there is anything
you can give her. A warm bath is the only thing I can think
of for a baby that young. And maybe gently rub in circles
on her tummy.
