What's going on with your body right now is perfectly normal and correct for you. Some women gain almost no extra weight when they are pregnant, some gain a lot. If your OB-GYN is not concerned about the amount of weight you have gained, then you shouldn't be either. Keep on eating healthy, and whenever you feel hungry, and you'll be fine.

Also, don't be afraid of losing your hair after childbirth. It's not exactly the truth. What really happens is that the hormonal changes in your body when you're pregnant cause the hair that you have on your head to remain. Any strands that would normally fall out due to everyday brushing, washing, or age (hair constantly falls out and renews itself throughout your lifetime) stay.

After you have your child, it does seem like you are losing a ton of hair, but the hair that you are losing are the strands that would have fallen out anyway on their own in the 9 months if you hadn't been pregnant. Eventually, your normal hair loss via brushing, washing, or otherwise will return to normal.

Relax, and enjoy yourself during your pregnancy. it's a wonderous time for so many reasons, and truly, it's the only time in a woman's life where the extra pounds are considered beautiful by most everyone. Congratulations!

I didn't put on a great deal of weight (I weigh less now than I did before I feel pregnant) and I had to eat every time I felt hungry because I would do the same as you. Don't go without food it's your body's way of telling you it is needing something to help the baby grow and keep up your strength. Ask your Dr next time you go in why it is happening and you aren't eating junk. All the hormones rushing through your body don't help either with feeling down. I lost a bit of hair after having my daughter (5.5 months old). I thought cause we were coming into summer here in Australia that it was doing what it normally does each summer but it was a lot more than normal and I thought that it would never stop but it has thankfully. I don't know if all women experience it but most do. Good luck : - )

Never ignore your hunger... it is telling you something.. eat. If you are doing all you can to eat healthy, then don't worry. Some women just naturally put on more weight during pregnancy... you'll have plenty of time afterward to lose it (and be thankful that your boyfriend isn't an insensitive jerk and doesn't complain about your weight... unfortunately, some women have to go through that).

As for the hair falling out... my hair has grown very thick during my pregnancy. If you start shedding after you have the baby, don't worry. It is probably just extra hair you have grown from the pregnancy hormones and even prenatal vitamins.

First, did you use the same scale, same time of day, same type of clothing/shoes when you weighed recently and weighed the first time. 22lbs is more than average for weight gain this early in pregnancy. Speak to your ob/gyn about this subject. And yes, it is normal to eat when you are hungry. Even if it is a few crackers, some fruit, or veggies. On the hair subject, hair loss is a sign of stress. Many new moms are stressed and sleep deprived, so they lose some hair. Also , your hormones can come into play quite a bit during this period. Some women notice that their hair is fuller during pregnancy, and you lose some after you are not pregnant anymore

Gaining 22 pounds during the first 15 weeks does seem like a lot. You do not do your baby any favors by overeating .. so i would focus on eating well and in the right amounts. Try eating several small meals a day instead of 3 large ones and adding some low impact exercise to lift your spirits and improve body image. Your mental outlook may get better when you begin to show also .. give it time and be easy on yourself.

I lost a ton of hair after i quit nursing my children. My hair is very thick and it was noticeably thinner afterwards. Took about a year to regain my "normal" head of hair. I know lots of girls whos hair was unaffected by their pregnancies. Everyone is different. Good luck!

Don't think of yourself as fat. Pregnant women are beautiful no matter how much they way because they are bringing new life into this world.
:D
please eat whenever you feel hungry, you body needs enough energy to support the growth of the little baby. Just don't eat because you're bored.

Don't try and do a lot of excersizes right now as you might loose the babe. :(

and if you have cats don't clean the litter box. Feline Fecal matter has a bacteria that could kill the baby.

Congratulations on the baby!!!

I have never heard of the hair thing. and about the weight I gained 90 pounds with my first one and got all the weight off so it isn't like you have to only gain so much to get it off. Some people think if you gain more than like 30 then it is too much. My thought is as long as you are not only eating sweets your body will do what it needs to do for you and the baby. Good Luck

You're probably just freaking out because all this is new to you (or so I'm assuming). It's natural to gain weight during pregnancy, and if you say you're eating right then you don't have much to worry about. Just calm down, and enjoy this experience. Oh, and no, as far as I know it's not common to lose your hair after child birth. As long and you're not stressing too much.

I wouldn't worry too much about hair loss. I don't remember
losing any more then normal (what you see in the hairbrush or
tub). You really haven't gained a lot because you have to think
about it this way your baby is going to need to gain weight and
you need to gain a little bit too (like water weight gain).
Take walks if possible, (check with your doctor first),
he/she may even tell you some exercises that are safe
for you to do while you are pregnant. Enjoy being
pregnant.

You don't need to be thinking about yourself right now. I mean, you do in that you need to take care of yourself, but you shouldn't be obsessing with your weight right now. The most important thing is to take care of yourself AND that baby! You need to give the baby the best possible start in life. Pregnant women gain weight. There is no way around it. If you don't gain weight, you'll be putting the health of the baby in danger. You can lose the weght after the baby is born. It's only 9 months.
