I think I might not be able to go to school or work for the Spring semester because of my OCD, anxiety, depression, & Tourette's. What's the sense in going if I can't concentrate or absorb any info because of constant distraction & intrusive, unwanted thoughts? But @ the same time, I'm afraid I'm gonna be bored all day, every day. So, what do you do daily to pass the time of SHEER BOREDOM? Watch TV, go to other websites besides Y!A, walk your dog, volunteer, have hobbies, clean up, listen to music? What?

I get on Yahoo Answers, watch TV, think about my future, listen to music, and look thorough the many magazines I have!

This will definitely change in 2008! I have some serious work to do!

Oh yeah! I used to volunteer at the hospital up the street from my house, but I took a long break on July 31, 2007 and I haven't been back since! Why? I wasn't happy with my mental state of mind at the time, so I wrote an abrupt vacation slip and left! I really want to go back, but I'd probably embarrass myself and I'm not mentally ready for it yet! Volunteering was the best thing that ever happened to me! It made me feel really good inside! I really miss the people at the hospital, too!

Well your life is only what you make of it! I have been retired since I was in my forties! At first I got bored after about 2 weeks! But then I realized hey! I can do what ever I want know, no Job to have to worry about keeping anymore and no more kissing his a-- to keep it!!

I was finally free to do what ever I wanted or dam well pleased to do and I only had to answer to myself!!! What a great feeling it was! I started a few hobbies, I volunteered a few hours a day of my time at a Thrift store! I help people who needed a handyman and I have had no boredom or regrets!

I advertise for over 385 websites as a part time hobbie, I never knew anything about internet or computers!!! And have been doing it now for over 5 years now! It was all self taught! Sure I crashed my new computer a few times and advertising was a huge challenge for me to take on! On the internet!

But a person can do anything they want in the world and succeed!!! They just have to want it bad enough!!! If a person just wants to crawl in a hole and hid from the world and really wants to do it bad enough!!! Guess where you'll be able to find them!!!

And for health problems and using them as a excuse not to do anything is a lazy person's way out! There's very good medications for all you say you have, and if your not taking any medications!!! That's why you feel the way you do!

You can't fight the health problems by yourself! You need treatments that will help you live a normal life!!! Get more then one doctor to completely check you out to see what med's will work and which ones won't!!! To get you on the road of a more enjoyable life!

The worst you could do, is to become a couch potatoe, thats just a life of not wanting a life! Get yourself active in things you would enjoy and can do! Keep your spirits up the best you can! Never let your health problems control you! Your in charge, Find the ways to control them! They maybe be in your life, but there not your life!

Well I am a mom with Tourette's and I can understand your frustration. I did go to college and it was difficult. You have to try . As my mom say till you try you will never know. I did finish college many of my professors understood my situation and were quite understanding. Now I am at home with my children. Being a mom is also a job. GOOD LUCK and don't give up.

I used to be on disability for a bunch of mental illnesses. The best thing I did with my time was go to day treatment and learn Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). It helped me get back to having a life worth living. Besides that, you can do online school. Just take one class at a time until you feel that you can handle more.
