Does that make me a racist against blacks too?
According to a CERTAIN someone's arguement in here.. all us southerners vote Republican because we are racists.
I wonder why Im black, Conservative...and I dont buy that line of BS for a second.
Could It be I vote for the Candidate... and not for the Party?
and why dont many more blacks think as I do and vote for the MAN.... not the party?... I could care less if he is Dem or Republican... if he is the BEST man for the job overall.... he has my vote.
I think Dems do not EARN my vote....THEY EXPECT IT!
Of course.. it could be because Im not on welfare popping out babies, or playing race baiting games with OTHER ethnic groups to get a hand out for free in exchange for a VOTE!
Whats your take on this issue?

REMEMBER.... I WAS a dedicated Democrat up until recently when I defected from the party and changed my status to "Independant". Im sick of being used by the Dems. I grew up in Maryland... HARDLY a southern racist state..
And now I take all kinds of heat from dems, and their liberal ilk because of it. As if Im some kind of traitor because I dont bow to the party line.
This sickens me.

I agree with you.
I am a white conservative, but I don't usually make that distinction. I only have because you did. I believe in equal rights for all and I don't think that someones color matters either way in any issue. I would not decide a vote based on color... EVER.
I agree that the issues are basically the big deal and the security of our nation really is the most important issue.
The Democrats believe that they deserve the minority vote. This may be because they believe in illegal immigrants and amnesty though now because they need and desire their vote. The black community doesn't matter to them anymore.
I think that you, like me, are just a proud American who believes in old fashioned American values.

Well let me tell you what is going to happen to you over time.
It happened to me.
First you are pro democrat. Then pro republican. And every 4 years the politicians talk about how they are going to change things but you see nothing changing. Things keep getting worse and taxes getting higher and poor people still staying poor.
It takes years to finally see this for what it is but when you see it you realize that the salvation is not our goverment or programs but private citizens and their actions.
The more the government gets out of our way the better off we are.
My Grandpa, rest his soul, was a dyed in the wool Democrat was in WW2 but then changed political parties and he also came to realize it. One day he and I were talking politics and he said, what was the most honest sentence on politics ever uttered..he said "You know what, they are all assh*les".
We don't need them to take care of us. Get out of our way, step back, and let us the private citizens be free.

It just means you have conviction and integrity to stand up to the political machine known as the Republicrats and not believe the lie that we are seperated by a color barrier.
Just because you are conservative does not mean you have to vote for a Republican exclusively, there are plenty of Conservative Democrats, but they are not being heard by the screaming Libs who claim to run the party...the same is true of those us who are registered Republicans, the few do not speak for the many. I vote for whomever holds a majority of my values..Am I going to agree with them on every issue..no because any candidate who tries to be everything to everyone is a bold faced liar.

So you're saying blacks vote Democrat because they are lazy and just looking for a handout?
Funny.
I thought it had something to do with the election of 1964 when liberal Democrat LBJ supported the Civil Rights Act and conservative Republican Barry Goldwater opposed it and instead supported "state-rights."
Even the former Chairman of the Republican Party, Ken Mehlen, admitted the GOP used opposition to civil rights legislation to win over the South.

If you're southern black and you're voting for the GOP, I'd say that you are very confused. There is nothing the agenda of the southern GOP contingency that has ever helped blacks let alone other minorities or middle class whites for that matter. If you are from the south, then you know damn well how incredibly corrupt the southern GOP party really is. If Halley Barbour of Mississippi doesn't ring a bell, then it should. In terms of the Dems expecting your vote, I don't think that is true of all Dems, especially Barak Obama since he isn't catering to the Jesse Jackson's or the Al Sharpton's of that party. As a matter of fact, I'd say he is pretty independent as far as that goes. Last time I looked, I don't ever remember any Democrat ever promising to take care of any black. But at least they listen to the black communities and talk to them, unlike the GOP candidates.
BTW, your argument of saying that you're not on welfare popping out babies or playing race baiting games with other ethnic groups to get free handouts is just another racist race baiting ploy on top of racist remarks. But I'm sure in your wisdom and your intelligent self analysis that you've done, you already knew this.
Also in your analysis, I'm sure you've considered that the white GOP candidates of today usually just ignors the black voter or black community. But I'm sure you reasoned that away too.

So now you are a flip flopper.
Jokes aside, we all are labeled. At times incorrectly, as in your case. But take pride in your views, for only you choose what they are, regardless of labels. As long as they aren't hateful.
