You can't be a star in a month, which is what most aspiring actors want when they start out. You have to prove to producers that you're willing to put up with the work involved. It's a strain on your emotional self as well as physical self.
Get ready to be on movie sets / theater rehearsal for hours on end!
You want to start out with classes. Most acting classes will give you advice on where to look for auditions in your area. I live in Cleveland, Ohio, and at any given day on average, there are about 12 projects happening. Who would have thought it? Most of them are no pay indie films, or college projects, but hey, acting is acting.
Learn, gain experience, and eventually, when you have enough experience, find some Agency to represent you out in LA, or NY. You can't get famous unless you're in either of those cities.
Check out the acting resources online, like backstage.com, craigslist.org, or ActingShowcase.com where you can promote yourself via headshots, keep track of your resume, and upload videos. Nothing wrong with more exposure.
Hope this helps. Cheers!

Okay. That used to be my dream. My dream is now an absolute reality. Take my advice and you'll be on a plane to Hollywood in no time.
1. Ask your parents. Get their support. Make sure they get the picture.
2. Make sure fame is what you want.
3. Visit some websites. Actors Access.com, Backstage.com. Explore Talent.com, Most are free, but some require a small payment per month.
4. Submit yourself. If you see a job you qualify for, ask your parents, and click the button. There is no harm in getting yourself out there.
5. Enroll yourself in some classes. On-screen classes, Local Plays, Acting workshops, ANYTHING.
6. Put together a resume.
7. Get a headshot. This will be attached to your resume.
8. Send your shots, and resume to some agencies. Once again, it never hurts to get yourself out there.
9. Decide on a couple monologues for auditions. Practice them.
10. Enjoy the ride!!!!
I hope you do well!! I certainly did!!!
Good Luck ,

let me give you some advice. start with the little stuff. i started my acting career in a kid's volunteer theatre in the summer. Give yourself some experience and work up a resume. Once you get that, be sure you have 100% suport of your parents - deals like TV or movies can require a lot of travelling. Then, look for an open casting call where you can audition. There are lots of sites online where you can find information and tips, including www.radnetcafe.com which is a sister site to www.danradcliffe.com (dan radcliffe, as in harry potter.)
Good luck to you!

You start by enlisiting the support of your parents, as you cannot do anything professionally without their consent. I suggest you look into classes at KD Studio which has special classes for youngsters
