I know it's been asked before but after the night I had l lastnight it bears repeating.
I want to be remembered for my sense of humor even in the worst of times.I went via ambulance to the ER lastnight, heart attack, my blood pressure crept silently up to 210/120 and then came the chest pains. They referred to it as a minor heart attack, but honey in my book there's no such thing as minor. But I still kept my sense of humor through it all, if you read my answer to Y's question about Smiles you'll see my point. Hugs to all, I'm thrilled to be here today! I'm home resting quietly today.

What I wish to be remembered for and what I will be remembered for are two different things
I WILL be remebered for being a selfish cold hearted ***** who walked out on her family and friends and moved to another country abandoning them... For doing drugs, misbehaving, failing, never fully finishing school, bad choice in life, friends, lovers.... For not doing this that or the other ... And for FINALLY leaving my 2 nieces and nephew for their parents to raise for the first time in their lives
I WON'T be remembered for giving up everything I owned for everyone, quitting school to take care of my 2 nieces and nephew after their parents were deemed incapable so that they wouldn't end up in foster care, taking 2 jobs working nights so I could be home in time to make them breakfast and make sure they went to school, taking care of my mom EVERY time her lupus got bad, bailing everyone on gods creation out of jail, cooking holiday meals, not eating so that my family would have more food, taking beatings from my father to save my mother from being beat up ....
*sighs* Hopefully someone will at least remember I was a good cook

OMG... Roseann, I'm so glad you are home and OK... my heart just about jumped out of my chest! You Rest, and rest, and rest. Mind the Doctor's, no cheating! I'm hoping they already have all the follow-ups scheduled! This medical stuff sucks doesn't it?
I have been trying to do the same today... I couldn't express my humor at all yesterday... my Dr. gave strict instructions "NO JOKES" as I'm the patient that always jokes, they never know what I'm going to say after the cocktail they give me... They filmed my procedure so everyone was very serious! A few jokes would have helped a great deal!
OK... because I am, loving, compassionate & loyal. I have very strong ethics, and I'm funny as hell! Like I said earlier If we can't laugh about our problems we would cry ourselves to death!

OMG !! I am so glad you are okay !! I know how scary that can be since I've had 3 heart attacks myself - and I'm with you - there's no such thing as minor. Do be sure and follow up with a good cardiologist so that tests can be run and they can find a reason for this - It doesn't just happen for no reason.
Take good care of yourself and know that I'll be thinking of you often.

Glad it was 'mild'....now do whatever you can to keep the BP in safe range. I had no idea I even had a BP problem [as I also have 'white coat syndrome and it spikes when I go to the doc] but I do...so I changed my diet [took awhile but I became used to healthier eating]; exercised [thankfully I found exercises that were in tune so to speak with my abilities]; and lost weight. The weight really was not that hard as when I began to REALLY watch the kinds of foods I ate and how I prepared them and didn't 'cheat' I lost weight easily...not a diet...just healthy eating based on what the nutritionist told me. [Went to CVS pharmacy's nutrition program]
I don't want to go out of here this early! So I bit the bullet. Yes, I miss some of life's indulgences but not at the cost of my life. I no longer drink ANY alcohol; no sugar laden sweets; use only olive oil and Brummel and Brown; no fried foods, no sodas and lots of veggies and fish. Got a good cookbook and learned to fix all my favs a healthy way and found they tasted just as good.
You have been given a second chance...roll with it and enjoy your life...healthy!
Happy you're still with us :-)
As for how I would like to be remembered.

Roseann, you sound like my kind of person and I too am thrilled you are here.
It's always been my motto to leave them laughing.
All of my family have a great sense of humor and it is a very important part of life.
My worry is that they, my posterity will miss me too much.
I have always been the rock, that held my family together.
I'm okay to end my journey through life, but I worry for all and how they will handle their life, when I'm gone.
They aren't dependent on me for material things, but they do need me, as they say, "To Light Up Their Life"
I have a poem I have saved for that time, for them to read and hopefully be comforted as they read it.
Don’t cry at my grave cause I won’t be there.
I’ll be in the breeze that ruffles your hair,
I’ll be in the sunshine I’ll be in the snow,
I’ll be in the places that we use to go.
I’ll be in your shadow and there in your dreams.
I’ll be in your greetings but not your goodbyes.
I’ll be in the reflection of your loving eyes.
I’ll always be with you and I’ll always care.
Don’t cry at my grave side cause I won’t be there.

I will also share a quote that i love.
“Be your own best friend and don’t forget to wink at yourself now and then.”

Get well soon and take care.

Glad you're OK. Take care of yourself.
How do I want to be remembered? As a kind and gentle soul but I seriously doubt that will be the case.

Thank goodness you are here to tell us about it. It certainly does give a different perspective on life in general! I want to be remembered as a beloved mother, wife, grandmother and nurse. That is all I ask. Thank you for sharing your story.
