It matters wat ur boss's personality is like. Can they take jokes or sarcasm? Wat kind? Do they have a sense a humor? Words that u should avoid saying to any boss however:
swears
offensive slurs
U'll have to decide where to draw the line tho for urself. Also don't suck up 2 much. Some bosses hate that

I saw a joke on another site today similar to this question.
A lady called into work one morning and told her boss that she would not be able to make it to work that day.
"What seems to be the problem?" the boss asked.
"I have anal glaucoma," she replied.
"What the he!! is anal glaucoma?" he asked.
"I just can't see my @ss coming into work today." she replied.
