In a couple of words, "centered" and "at peace."
It comes from realistic expectations from myself plus knowing you cannot be all things to all people.
At some point in your life you have to stop projecting your intentions of someday this and someday that, and begin to live in the present. When you reach that point, and present-moment everything in your life, one of the very first things you realise is that you must accept yourself exactly the way you are. That is your starting point. And then you will notice the people whom you love the most, and those who love you the most, have already accepted you that way for ages.
Back in the sixties (ghasp!) we used to call all this other stuff "getting there" stuff. We would refer to people who were always intending to live well one day as the "getting there" types. Then we would realise we felt sorry for them. They are missing the value of Life in this very moment.
