Ok, this sound a bit wierd I guess, but I'm 12, and I don't have pierced ears, and, I know, most people get their ears pierced at a young age. But, my my mom told me that I couldn't get my ears pierced until I had matured over a problem, and it was about potty training, and it's hard to explain, but I matured over it at 11, right before my school started in late August, and I just haven't brought it up with my mom. I don't know how, my mom's 54, almost like a friend, and she got her ears pierced at 18, when her mom let her. I really want to ask her, because it stresses me to not ask her. I want to get it done at Claire's. And I really want to know how to bring it up. I'm not the coolest person in the 6th grade, but I'm not dull and dumb, theres only 2 girls in my class that don't have pierced ears, and they are smart, uncool, and one doesn't even WANT friends. Please give me conversation starters. Thanks!! :)

Just be like "hey mom remember when you said I could get my ears pierced....." If she still says no don't worry about it. I got my ears pierced, and long story short, had to let them close up. And if you go to Claire's you will find they have an AWESOME selection of clip-ons. Alot of times people don't even know and you don't have to worry about taking care of your holes. I've heard more and more celebrities are wearing clip-ons as well.

I never knew that ear piercing made someone cool or not cool. I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 13 because I was scared.. after I got one set of holes done, I got three more done. Anyways, I would explain to her why you want your ears pierced. Talk to her about how you over came your problem and how today ear piercing isn't really a big deal. I took my daughter when she was 6 months old to have her ears done.
Remember, having pierced ears won't make you any cooler.

Pierced ears don't make you cool. Just ask your mother about it. Ear piercing isn't that serious
If you do get it pierced, don't get it done at Claire's. They use a piercing gun which forces a blunt earring through you ear with high pressure. The gun they use cannot be properly sterilized which means that one person's disease can be passed onto you.

Well first of all, don't assume that getting your ears pierced will make you cool. You should do something because its what you want, not because everyone else is doing it, or it's the "cool" thing to do. Just make sure you want it for the right reasons.
With that being said, I think you should just approach your mom and be honest with her. Tell her that you got over your problem, and you are hoping that she will allow you to get your ears pierced. Tell her that you know that you have to take care of them, and maybe try to come to an agreement (e.g. no hoops or dangling earrings for a while). Just go up to her and show her that you are mature and can go to her and talk about it.

You could just ask, "Can I get my ears periced now". I mean if she told you that you had to wait till you got over your problem and you did then I dont see why she would get mad or anything.
