MY BOYFRIEND AND I WAS JUST HAVING THIS CONVO. HE SAID THAT I AM HIS #1 NOW, BUT WHEN WE HAVE KIDS I WILL BE COME HIS #2. HE SAID THAT IT WILL BE THE KIDS THEN ME. I SAID THAT WE SHOULD BE ON THE SAME LEVEL.

INSTEAD OF IT BEING MY KIDS THEN MY WIFE, IT SHOULD BE MY WIFE AND KIDS.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

When you have kids they will both become the number 1 priority since you are the ones taking care of them. It will become apparant that you are number 2 because well they will need more attention. I think this is what your BF is trying to tell you. He is not saying you are not first in his heart and his number 1 and only lady he is just saying his attention may be focused more on the baby when it comes. As in they will be more important then you at times.

Being a parent is a lifelong job are you ready for that if you have a problem with being placed 2nd you should not have kids until you grow-up a tad and gain some independence.

I thiunk your BF sounds like he is ready for parenthood but you are not. Most mothers would be saying their husband will be number 2 when the baby comes along.

So he is saying what you shouldbe saying?.

God Bless and Best Wishes with your future undertakings.

That is a tough call. I do think that they should be on the same level, but in the same aspect I expect my man and I to put the children first. We have not done alot of things, because of the kids. We go without so the kids can have. So it depends on the way you look at it, But all of us love each other just the same.

maybe he didn't mean it the way he said it? its like the love you have for your children is not the same you have for your spouse....in a way, kids do become number 1...and the parents have to re adjust their relationship a little because the needs of the children can be so demanding and they're solely dependent on you guys. get what i mean? i could be wrong...trying to give the benefit of the doubt here. equality is good too, but it may not work out quite that nicely ...atleast not all the time.

He should cherish his wife more than his children I think! Same in reverse too! Its hard for some women to put her husband above her children but this is the way it should be.

Everyone in the family has their own unique positions.

The husband, is the husband.

The wife, is the wife.

The kids, are their kids.

Each has different positions ,, different needs ... different parts in the making of the family.

All are important.
