I usually do this on New Year's Day. Yes, I hate it. I have literally hundreds of ornaments on my tree, and I decorate everything, even my bathroom, so it's a huge job. But what I guess I hate most is that it means the holiday season is over,l and that's kind of sad, even though the holidays are just non-stop work for me.

Yes, it's not quite as much fun as putting them up, is it? Interesting that all the answers so far refer to the Christmas season as being over. It is not over until Jan 5th (Hence the 12 days of Christmas which starts on the 25th). So maybe if you enjoyed the entire season you would appreciate it more. Now is the time to enjoy the trappings without all the work/stress/expectations etc.... But what do we expect when the secular world has redefined what the Christmas season is? So, as for me, it is only the 5th day of a 12 day season so there is no rush to take down anything yet.

I'm doing that on Wednesday -- I especially hate putting all the tree ornaments away - wrapping them in tissue paper, etc., it's so time-consuming! But I do really like having the house less cluttered after the holidays.

Let's just be happy we only have to do this once a year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!

I hate taking down christmas lights, I'll do that next week. When I do get started on them, I usually do it as quick as possible and then just sit around doing nothing.

Ugh, me and my mom hate doing that. It makes me more sad than mad and tired from the work. It means for me, the holiday is officially over. And we also have to take down the outdoor lights and stuff. It's a big job. We'll do it next week hopefully.

Wow...good for you! I'm impressed. I dread taking down all of my decorations. I'll probably do it on the first -- that's our "traditional" day to take down Christmas decorations.

We always take our christmas tree/decorations after New Year's. It's a bit early to take them off, in my opinion.

i dont have a christmas tree (because i don't celebrate christmas [i am not christian or catholic] )...but if i did...i think it would be tiring and annoying...so hypothetically i would hate taking down the Christmas decorations =)
