If muhameed is allah's most sincere prophet, then it follows to live like he did would make one a good muslim

Why do no muslim men seem to want to take 6 yr old girls hands as brides?

This is allowed as muhammeed did it, therefore it sohuld be a perfectly good example for you to follow

But why are there no muslim families offering their 6 yr old daughters as brides to grown men, surely if the prophet did it, it should be ok, so why are they so reluctant to do it now?

You do not shy away from the shariah, chopping off hands for theft, or public executions, so why not incorporate the actions of child marriage too, since the prophet did it

the bible says remarriage is a adultery

so with what authority did muhammed have to tell his adoptive son to divorce his wife, and then marry her for himself

the bible says a man should not sleep his fathers wife, vice versa should be expected too

Why would God send down gabriel to tell muhammed the exact opposite of what he told moses and Jesus?

why don't you marry 6 yr olds like muhammed

if this disgusts you, then you should be disgusted with muhammed, and with islam

if you practice islam and find this a taboo subject, then you are not dealing with the facts of your faith which clearly disgust you and are not right

if it's good religiously to marry 6 yr olds, why don't muslims do it like their ambassador?

Rickld include : which should include taking their adopted sons wives for their own, and marrying 6yr old girls,

the bible forbids this

nature forbids this

common sense and logic forbid this

but islam says muhameed did it, therefore you can do it too

so why don't muslim families surrender their 6 yr old girls to be married

as they know its wrong!!!!

Your understanding of both the Bible and Islam are lacking. If you want an education, email me. I'm a Christian, and have read the Bible cover-to-cover many times, as well as the Koran and many of the Hadith.

Hey Oracle, the Bible contradicts itself as well on many many occasions, some of these contradictions are even directly stated by the authors as being contradictions or 'corrections' (Gospel of Luke vs. Gospels of Mark and Matthew is a perfect example). Rereading the Bible doesn't change this either.

If you're gonna scrutinize the Koran for contradictions, you have to be willing to treat the Bible equally.

Muslim men are commanded to live as close a life to that of the prophet as they can.

Mohamed was *betrothed* to his youngest wife, A'isha, when she was 6, but didn't *consummate* the marriage by taking her to bed with him until she was 9.

You are wrong to ask why Muslims today don't do this - many of them do. Under Shari'a the minimum age to marry a girl and have sex with her is immediately after her first period, and doing so is common in many Islamic countries.

In addition to his having commanded his son to divorce his youngest wife so that he could marry her, it's also a fact that when Mohamed first saw A'isha at 6, she was already promised in marriage to another man as soon as she was old enough, but Mohamed ordered her father (Abu Bakr, one of his first followers) to break his sworn word and cancel that betrothal so that he could marry her.

Technically, also, his marrying A'isha was incest under Arab law, because Mohamed had taken Abu Bakr as his sworn blood brother, which made A'isha officially his niece.

It's a fair point. It goes to show that once you set a doctrine in stone, you either have to follow it through or contradict yourself. We might also ask why christians don't 'live like Jesus'.
The way they wriggle out of it, is to say they live according to his 'spirit' rather than following his actions to the letter.

[edit]Hey Gaelic, I too have read these books more than once and still they contradict themselves. Re-reading doesn't take away the facts.
