I'm not talking about success.
We all know terrible bands can have success.

Mr. T: I like Lincoln Park but all their music sounds the same. Dark Halo I won't even comment on. Neither band comes close.

Radiohead is a great band but there would be no Radiohead without the Pixies and Sonic Youth. They might be the closest band so far mentioned.

Nirvana: See Radiohead.

U2: My favorite rock band but every member of the group would tell you musically, their style is simplistic.

No, and I know what you're saying. There hasn't been a band I've wanted to collect music from since Aerosmith. I like a lot of music, all different kinds but I mostly listen to 60's and 70's. Bread is an all time fave of mine. Van Morrison, CCR and James Taylor are a few more.

I cried a little when Dan Fogleburg died last week too.

i admire Velvet Revolver using fact they have the excellent guitarist scale back and nevertheless the complete GNR crue different than of course Axle. in the beginning i replaced right into somewhat skeptical that Scott Wielder from STP could be a reliable lead for them, yet after observing them preform stay two times they genuinely rock. My favourite band in the previous they broke up replaced into Smashing Pumpkins specially for an identical reason you like Pearl Jam

i don't think there is one, and perhaps that would have been a good thing 20 years ago when the new music they were making was good, but today it's bad news...really i don't think there are any, and the shame of it is that very few bands out there today are even making good rock music, in their own style...it's a crying shame that rock music has advanced so far and now it's at a standstill

Powderfinger - Australia's best current rock band that deserves more attention overseas. Internationalist, Vulture Street and Odyssey Number Five are good albums.

Stereophonics did OK belting out Zeppelin riffs on last night's "Friday Night Xmas Project. Davina McC headbanging with Justin, something else.
But do they rate in the same breath as The Zeps, I think not.

Under the Influence of Giants. They have a very 70's sound and they rock! Check them out!

The Darkness. They are the most retro sounding band on the 2000s.

I would have to say that Hinder is the new comparable version of Aerosmith. if you listen to their songs throughout the album, you'll see what I mean. The lead singer makes me think Aerosmith. Hinder re-recorded the song "born to be Wild". Find it on youtube. it's a good example of what i'm talkin about.
