The Allies won the war against the Nazis. Too late to save the 5.1 millions Jews and a few millions other victims (Gypsies, political opponents, homosexuals, 'deviants', resistant fighters...) already murdered by the Nazis, but saving the rest of the jewish population who hadn't died yet or been caught.

World War II was two groups of powers against each other:

One was referred to as the Axis Powers and was comprised of, Germany, Italy, Japan, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria

The other was referred to as the Allies and was comprised of United States, Britain, France, USSR, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, and Yugoslavia.

However, a few points should be made. World War II was not just a few weeks but years. Although Germany began its aggressive moves prior (such as, May 9 1936 - Mussolini's Italian forces take Ethiopia; Oct 15 1938 - German troops occupy the Sudetenland; Take Czechoslovakia 15 March 1939). to their invasion of Poland (1 September 1939) that is considered the beginning of the War.

The Allies didn’t land on the banks of Germany but rather the Allied invasion was on the Atlantic shore of occupied France at Normandy. Nor were the Allies slow in freeing Europe. This was a long hard fight that was never sure until the final months when Germany surrendered 7 May 1945.

Let me also say that each country within the Allies was important to the ultimate success. However, the United States played a very unique role by becoming the manufacturing arsenal for the Allies. This included supplying Russia as well as Great Britain and the Free French as well as the other countries. Without that supply of arms to the Allies it is likely that the Germans would have rolled right over the countries that they invaded.

It's not quite so simple. An alliance of the US, Canada, Russia, Great Britain, France, and a number of other countries defeated Germany. Russia probably played the most important role, though the US was certainly important.

The Holocaust, however, had already happened. Six million Jews died. American and other troops did liberate the survivors of the camps, so many were saved. Britain (after much resistance) eventually provided the land for the nation of Israel in the Middle East, and the US has since been their biggest supporter.

Yes they did. They landed on the banks of Germany (not just America, it was Britain too, and France and a couple of other countries as well) and they fought their way through the Nazis, freeing the Jews from concentration camps wherever they were still alive, and in some weeks, all the still-living Jews were rescued. However, some people think (as do I) that it was still pretty late for them to act. But at that time, I bet those Jewish people were very grateful for them, although many of them were on the verge of death.

The Russians, Americans, British and other allies ended the war by winning it. The Jews of Europe weren't saved. The vast majority of them were killed - even though some got out before the killing and others were not killed yet the fact is 6 million out of 11 million Jews in the world were killed.
