No matter who wins the Presidency or who takes over Congress, the bills have to be paid! The sad part is that we really don't know what the real debt amounts to, we are being kept in the dark! The news we get from the government sounds like we are not in bad shape at all but, we know better! Sure, taxes may go up but, then there are ways to limit by how much they raise; stopping some of the wasteful spending, monitoring what & how our money is being spent. The government needs to post an honest budget for all of the people to see before they start spending our money. We elect them to do a job for us, they seem to think we elected them to do a job for themselves! It is way past time for an open more honest government. We the people need to demand it from those we elect. Anyone with a mind knows when we started going into debt & who was running the government when it happened. Just because a few Democrats hold a very small majority in both houses does not mean that they are able to do much of anything unless the Republicans go along with them. That hasn't been the case. They all seem to think that we don't know a thing about what is happening well, we do! It's been business as usual! Time for it to stop!

I wouldn't say handing the Whitehouse over, but your predictions are unavoidable, The national debt will have to be addressed, taxes will rise and spending will be cut, the temporary lull in Iraqi resistance will come to an end, and the next presidency will get the blame.

I totally agree with you on this one. And, I agree with the first poster as well. The GOP is the most incompetant party on the planet but they are pros when it comes to shifting blame and not taking responsibility. It's funny how they love to preach accountability except when it comes to them actually being accountable themselves. I really hope the American people are awake enough this time to see this debacle.

No. They are fighting hard to keep it. But they have bungled our country so badly that it is inevitable that they will lose it and put the blame of the Democrats for the mess they left them.

I truly believe that to be true, they are hoping to push everything to the brink of failure then get out of town; come riding in to the rescue in 4 years. Idiots. Rather I guess we are the idiots if we fall for it......
