Several years ago I had a KUB xray, (kidney, ureter, bladder) and learned that my prostate was starting to enlarge. It explained why I always had to get up a couple of times in the middle of the night to take a leak. Saw palmetto was the drug of choice before the pharmaceuticals came along. To make a long story short, I've been taking saw palmetto a couple of times a day since that xray, and I no longer get up in the middle of the night to take a leak.

I have been using a saw palmetto complex that also includes pygeum and zinc for 12 yrs. and It has made quite a difference. Another tip stop using caffeine that has a habit of plugging up the plumbing too. I have mostly stayed away from caffeine for the last ten yrs and that has helped a lot. Now if I have anything with caffeine in it I can tell within several hours. I have tried some of the prescription stuff and was not at all happy with them. And some of them have some pretty nasty side affects. Sex also helps relive the pressure. Hope I have been of some help. BPH can be miserable.

Saw Palmetto does help to a certain extent, but keep a close watch on BHP as it can turn to Prostate Cancer as it did in my case, get it checked regularly at least twice a year.
