The National Weather Service has issued a "Hazardous Weather Outlook" for your area.
According to their data, a stationary front will remain in the area through tomorrow, producing some periods of rain along with occasional, non-severe thunderstorms.

On Sunday, a low pressure system will develop, bringing in periods of steadier rain and some thunderstorm activity. According to the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, there is a 2% chance of tornadoes and a 5% chance of seeing large hail (3/4"+) or strong winds in your area. Nothing to worry about in my opinion.

The system will exit the area by Monday, bringing better weather to the area.

The basic rule regards the location of the weather "front". As a front passes, it causes changes in temperature, dew-point and wind direction as well as wind speed. Depending on the degree of difference on one side of the front compared to the other the severity of these changes depends.

The worst weather will occur immediately in front of a cold front. Since it appears the front affecting weather in the Gulf has passed there should not be any sever surprises for a while.

Happy New Year!

The front is already well into the Gulf. I see no signs now that would lead to severe weather, only rain showers.

The wind shear right now doesn't look like it will be sufficient to generate much tornado action, but after midnight tonight there should be sufficient shear and instability to produce marginally severe winds and hail.
