Well...they might finally decide it's time to fix the front doors to their houses or at least put a new door on layaway.

There is no 'THEY'. Iraq, like most Arab states, is made up of many tribes, clans, and cultures.
One of the main problems in trying to impose Western style Democracy there is that people do not have any historical models to relate to. They are used to having all the potentially warring factions bludgeoned into submission by a totalitarian dictatorship; a fact which was sadly overlooked by the USA and UK when they naively championed the 'liberation' of Iraq. Iraq has never really been a single country except under Saddams dictatorship. The British established a shaky alliance of warring factions there inthe early 20th century to try to stabilise the oil resource. 'They' are more diverse than the Nations of Europe.

I presume you are asking how the Iraqi's would react.

I think the Iraqi's would react very positively and look forward to sorting out their own backyard without having some form of prefecture looking over their shoulder every minute. Afterall its a fact the Americans are not wanted nor welcome in any form in Iraq and to a large extent rightly so.

For the sake of Iraq's rehabilitation lets hope the US of A takes all its trash with it when it leaves, such as Halliburton's and all those trigger happy, lawless morons who are supposed to offer security?

yes sbeamdej the US have done wonderful things there ...more than a million people have died because of the invasion another 4 million made into refugees ,contaminated the ground and water with tons after tons of DU which will cause birth defects and cancers for hundreds of years Destroyed the Iraqi heritage which they had treasured and protected for over a thousand years and forced women back into the hijab ...bloody wonderful
most Iraqis now hate the occupiers but even if they leave life there will still be hell on Earth and a hundred times worse than before the invasion the damage can`t be undone

A lot would be happy but this is not going to happen especially with the Democrats since they need something to criticize our president.

It is all about politics at the expense of justice and truth.

Saddam Hussein deserved what happened to him with his children receiving justice from 3rd Battalion/327th Infantry "Battle Force" which existed from 1983-2005.

The Sunnis and the Shiites would begin stockpiling ammo and cleaning their weapons for an all out civil war, also known as a bloodbath. Just like with Viet Nam, a US pull out in the near future would invalidate and dishonor the sacrifices our GI's have already made. Don't get me wrong -- I wish we could pull the pin tomorrow and stop wasting good American men and women in that forlorn pile of sand.

Don't know. Depends on what kind of drug they're on. A year seems a long time to have withdrawns.

I know how the terrorists would react. They would sit quietly for a year and then topple the government.
