I asked a question earlier in parenting, I never expected the amount of different answers that varied so much.
So can I ask all the regulars in current events what you all think?
heres the question i posted earlier

It surprised me so much that people who all bring up babies have so many different views and opinions about how to do things.
To all those who say i shouldn't post this in current events, the question i posted which i am intrigued about was asked today

Hiya Paul..i am a bit confused as to what you are asking (she says with drink in hand) but when my kids were babies this is what i done.Hope it helps.
Steralise it,fill it,feed baby,wash it,steralise it.
If you mean how long can you leave it in the steriliser after steralisation,,if the lid is taken off for a while,,do it again if the lid is kept on they will stay steralised..
If i have confused you i'm sorry. But i confuse myself at times. xx

I think you had such different answers because it really depends on the age of the baby, what method you use and how you keep the bottle once it's been done.
I'd sterilise once a day. After sterilising we fill them with recently boiled water, cool them and store in the fridge, only adding the milk powder when required. So the answer is 24 hours. Even for an older baby I'd re do them after that time, better safe than sorry. REALLY sorry lol

Your so right when you say we all have different views on this subject, which is why you must go with what you feel is right, children shouldn't be too protected from dirt and germs ,as they will never build up any immunities.
I can only tell you how we did it,maybe things have changed I don't know.We used liquid sterilisation method dissolving tablets. My husband used to make up 6 bottles first thing in the morning, put them in the coldest part of the fridge (the bottom door rack),I would use them throughout the day.

The sterilising tables should indicate how long to use before changing the whole unit, from what I can remember, I changed the unit every 12 hours and as my first were twins! The bottles were soon used up! Once a bottle has been sterilised and made ready, they will be safe and are unlikely to be hanging around long! My last baby was breast-fed, so I was glad to have it already on tap!
Good luck.

I don't object your asking that in this section. After all it is an event and it is pretty current ;)
I have this idea that it is not a good idea to sterilise everything a baby touches. Baby wll not be immune to bacteria if baby isover protected.

Not surprising really, My mum used to sterilize and use straight away and if it was left for an hour would sterilize again. I remember when my sisters had babies she gave them a sterilizer first thing in fact. said get used to sterilizing now because you will be doing this every few hours for months.
come to think of it she always had three bottles in the sterilizer at a time.

I'm not a regular, does that mean I'm not eligible to answer your Q?
I will anyway. ☺ Put simply, I agree with Shambo, people will always believe their way is best when it comes to kids. I breastfed my kids so I can't help you on the sterilising.
