I think that there are many flaws in the perception of the author/s of the text, and in the given analysis even more. There are so many that addressing them all would make the answer too long. However, the main ones I'd like to comment on are: the text is trying to depict Russia as a trouble maker who is looking for a conflict for personal advertising reasons. This in itself is such nonsense and would deserve no comment if it weren't for the real author's opinion displayed in the implication 'Putin does not have Yeltsin's inertia' - for that is the key and that is where the western fear rises from, and I thank God for Putin being who he is!
Another one is the phrase "The re-engineering of the Balkans always has assumed that there is no broader geopolitical price involved." How silly. When even the students of basic international relations and geopolitics know the Mackinder's eternal reminder: "Who rules East Europe commands the Heartland. Who rules the Heartland commands the World-Island: Who rules the World-Island commands the World." This translates to the fact that the middle tier of German and Slavic states is the key to world domination - a key as available to the US and Germany as to Russia.
Seeing our children on Kosovo on TV, modestly and self-consciously holding the New Year&Christmas gifts sent from the rest of us Serbs outside their ghetto, and fear reflecting from their eyes, I just hope that Putin will take that key.

properly i'm an incredible proponent of unfastened speech and ignored your different positioned up - even even though it rather is clean freedom includes accountability and sensitivity to others. I say many stuff that sound extremely "progressive" yet many times get labelled a "unfastened spirit" - Now some people even think of unfastened spirits are risky too LOL for sure, the actual try right it rather is your experience of social accountability on an identical time as keeping freedom and in case you could not be forgiven for speech and thinking then i prefer to head to a clean planet and start up over :))) Many leaders don't have your experience of social accountability or perhaps care how they result others - so good on you :):) - do no longer enable people or systems close you up - that isn't what "we" are approximately

My dear Avgerinos, nice to see you again. I had this strong feeling you will not appear here with questions about Kosovo future, hopping you realized the only outcome of recent situation: Kosovo Independence?
But your Orthodox ties are so strong that you will support serbians and russians even when you know they are wrong. Putin is just a little ;apparatchik; of former KGB, who have no other ideal than to miss use his power, something he learned from history of russian tzar's. Remember Alaska? It was russian territory, but russian tzar sold it to America, so the tzar can get enough money for his expensive party;s.Nobody takes Putin;s words seriously, since he is just trying to black male the west getting more concessions for his main goal: To double his private account, which is presently 50 billion $.
