I think it has something to do with the combination of music, Pink's personality and the style of the animation... I love Clouseau's sidekick Deux-deux. But it really comes down to the cool jazzy music.

What a coincidence! Earlier today I burned a dvd full of Pink Panther cartoons that I had downloaded.
