No, the leaders of Israel, and the leaders of the USA do not want peace in Israel/Palestine.
You are correct, the settlements being built are proof of that, there will be no peace, and the land will not be returned is the message.
The money flowing from US. tax payers to Israel, and then back to the military industrial complex in the USA is just too profitable.

Sure, they want peace!!??!!
Only IF, they get all the lands for themselves and keep slaughtering every single Palestinians!!
Also their greed have grown over the years in the fashion that, they '''just''' don't mind have the whole Middle East for themselves!!
Thus they arranged their slave, US that is, to pave the road for them by invading a innocent country!
And since receiving fund and support from America has never been a question, why not a little military assistance!!
Just a little!!?!!
They all stink to hell by their discriminatory acts.

I'm guessing the people of Israel would like to live in peace (who wants to live with the threat of being bombed on a daily basis?), but whether the government does or not is up for debate.

Because America sits as a permanent UN member with veto power to block enforcement of the 70+ violations Israel has committed.......the same kind of violations America has used to attack other countries.
This site is pretty good to confirm my answer, although it needs updating........http://christianparty.net/israelunresolutions.htm

Yes, but they cannot have peace until people like yourself shut up.
BTW - if you had been paying attention, you would have noticed that Israel has been bulldozing settlements.

You need proof. Last I heard they were forcibly removing people from settlements.

I personally think that they do, but it's not easy being surrounded by adversaries. Chosen People, is really ambiguous.
