What major do you have to take in college to be an astronaut?
Also, do you have to get a doctorate degree to be one?

Hi. Most commanders and pilots have to have aeronautics degrees, but mission specialists usually have a skill set needed for a particular mission. Consider environmental science, meteorology, etc. and go for a doctorate.

Why not have a look at NASA's recruiting web site, and have a look at the biographies of current astronauts.

Astronauts have to be able to think for themselves, and figure things out for themselves. This might be a good place to start.
