In other words, do you want somebody who has beliefs based on the facts or a person who twists the facts (or just plain ignores them) to fit his existing beliefs?

For example, cons believe that supply side economics is superior to keynesian economics. The facts show the opposite. Therefore, cons don't think the facts matter.

They have FAITH that it works better, and if the facts don't show it, then the facts must not matter.

HERE'S WHAT I DID:
I got the real GDP stats from the Bureau of Economic Analyses. I took the percent increase over 4 year intervals. I then ranked them from best to worst. Out of (((18))) 4 year intervals, the supply siders Reagan and Bush Jr ranked 8th, 12th, and 16th.

They should rely on both...with a large dose of common sense. I'll ignore your jabs at conservatives who shouldn't be lumped into one generalization.

I prefer a president who relies on facts. However, let's not forget that the United States is NOT a dictatorship. We can't blame, or praise, the president alone. Not nearly enough attention is payed to the part that Congress plays in the defeats and successes of any administration.

The facts do matter! Lower taxes means better economy! Stronger military means other countries don't mess with us! More capitalism and less socialism means higher standard of living! Tougher judicial system means less crime! More guns means fewer violent crimes. More individual responsibility means fewer abortions, fewer people on welfare, less litigation and more affordable health care. Forget about faith, when are Democrats going to start looking at the facts, and start using common sense?!?!?

Facts: and we can see in these answers that no matter how many facts you show the republicans they still would vote for a republican even if he was the devil himself who would lie about having faith.

lets get back to making decisions based on facts. when you use faith I wonder '' whose faith' and then we are back to mixing religion and politics.....not a good mix if we really want a government to function ....for all the people,

Bottom line is, were you better off under this president or that president. Figures don't lie, but liars often figure. Your biased question speaks for itself.
