I got a ipod nano for Christmas, got some thingy that goes into my car's cigarette lighter so that I can play my songs in the car.

now where do I get the songs to put on that thing?

and yes, I am in my 30's and do not have a lot of knowlege on electronics.

are there websites that would be good for me? I'm cheap so I don't want to pay anything.

thanks

Get iTunes for your computer and either get songs online from things like Rhapsody, or in the iTunes store, or upload from CD's you already have. Plug the iPod into your computer, and the music on iTunes will sync to your iPod, and then you can listen in!

you have to download iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/

if you have a windows media player 10 or a newer version, you can rip songs from your own CDs so you can transfer them to the ipod via itunes

you can also download free songs in limewire.. if you dont have it, download that as well. after you're done downloading, just copy and paste the songs in iTunes then sync! :)

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD YOUR OWN TUNES FROM YOUR P/C IF YOU HAVE SOME. OR GO TO WWW. LIMEWIRE.COM FOR FREE DOWNLOADS. GOOD LUCK!! I HAD TO LEARN HOW TO DRAG AND DROP. THAT IS WHERE YOU PUSH DOWN AND HOLD YOUR P/C BUTTON AND DRAG THE MUSIC TO THE SYNC. COLUMN. THEN WHEN YOU HAVE IT FULL, THE COLUMN, PUSH SYNC. AND THEY WILL DOWNLOAD TO THE IPOD. IF ALL ELSE FAILS, HAVE A FRIEND SHOW YOU, I'M COMPUTER ILLETERATE. AND I LEARNED QUICK. ENJOY!!!

lol! I would feel exactly the same as you about it. Wouldn't know what to do with it. Sorry, didn't really help you with the advice you were looking for, but at least now you don't feel alone.

Cd's you already own (even though they frown upon that). Or iTunes.
