I often see Christmas bows on cars around Christmas time. Are they there because the cars are gifts or are they just there because people want to get into the Christmas spirit?

All of the ones I know on cars are decorations. Just a friendly spirit. I have also seen small wreaths, which is a nice touch. Usually, when a new car is given, and their is a bow on it, the person takes the bow off.

Isn't the Christmas spirit wonderful? How I wish it would last all year.

Probably some of both. One year I saw a brand new car complete with a bow and with personalized plates "gft4u"

Some people love decorating so much that they include their cars and others are very proud of the fact that someone gave them a car.

Either way, be happy for them!

I put a red bow on the front of my car this year. It's just a decoration.

Here in Canada, when the police do spot checks to find impaired drivers, sometimes members of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) join them and tie red ribbons on the car's antenna (on the cars that do not have impaired drivers).

Probably a gift that they recently received and they just want to show it off to everyone. They want everyone to know that its is their christmas present.
