Neuheisel has been the head coach at two different schools and he destroyed both football programs. Colorado is just now beginning to recover from Rick Neuheisel and Washington still hasnt recovered. Make no mistake about it that Carl Dorrell was a garbage head coach, but he is 10 times better then Slick Rick.

rad .... Neuheisel had a good record his first two seasons at CU with players McCartney recruited, and lost 10 games in his final two seasons before getting CU stuck on probation and jumping ship. he also never won at Washington, he lost 15 games in 3 seasons and the only season Washington did well under Skippy was because of Marquis Tuiasosopo (a player recruited by Jim Lambright).

As a University of Washington alumn I can attest to the fact that Neuheisel is garbage. He left CU on probation and 5 forfeited games. He left Washington an inch away of probation but got recruiting sanctions slapped on them. On top of that, he lied to NCAA investigators on two seperate occaisons. The only players he ever recruited worth a damn he broke the rules to get them. The NCAA will have him under a microscope at UCLA, so he will either lose out on every prized recruit or get UCLA stuck on probation. This has to be the worst hire in the past 15 years in college football. One more thing, UCLA can kiss their stingy defense good bye, Rick has a history of having incredibly soft defenses. Im not even sure he knows what a blitz is. Bend but dont break is his philosophy, bend and break is the reality.

I feel he has a well threat. I'm certain UCLA goes to preserve a near eye on him and so far as teaching is going, he is lovely well. BCS, now not certain, the train does not play the sport, he nonetheless demands a few well gamers and the Pac 10 is a aggressive convention for recruiting.

Nueheisel may have left programs in shambles but he did win while he was the coach.

Doy you think that UCLA could get someone better? Who?

Edit hey John S you are right he did win with the prev. coach's players and I do not think he is a good hire but a piece petrfied wood could do a better job that ol Chairle out a Notre Dame and they love him

Im from colorado and I can tell you Neuheisel is a con man. and a cheater, and not a very good football coach. but like all con men he is charming and thats how he gets his work. you were right in pointing out how he won early with mcartneys players, not his own. i dont know how hes done since leaving CU but i remember watching him on the coaches shows here and I just never trusted him.

I wish you people wouldn't bring up Norm Chow every time a coaching vacancy occurs. He was offered several head coaching jobs but feels more comfortable as an assistant. He has declined offers at Nebraska, Arkansas, Texas A & M and Minnesota.

It is the classic case of placing retread tires on a car instead of looking for a new pair (tell me the boosters couldn't have lured Norm Chow out of the NFL). I guess the Bruins lost the phone number for Gary Barnett......I don't think Neuheisel has any recruiting base to speak of to bring along and his whole coaching persona is very worn. This is a ridiculously poor hire.

You must be a Washington fan. I am really happy with the choice of Neuheisel as a Bruin fan. We are gonna start winning more recruiting battles and will be a 10 win team every year with Neuheisel at the helm.

Neuheisel rocks! UCLA über alles!

I think it was a great hire. They shouldn't have fired Dorrell. But if their going to slew Judith, Rick is a great replacement! Besides now if I want to know the over-under on how many U.C.L.A. players will get handicap placards I know slick Ricky will be able to help me out!

apparently they are desperate and do not care about violations or opinion of their program. wins are all that matter nowdays. in fact, neuheisel didn't even win that many games. he'll get you 7-5, a mediocre bowl, and a ton of NCAA violations.
