First you could try calling the mall, and the stores you went to just to see if anyon ehappened to find it. I know if i saw it on the ground I would probably give it to an employee, and from having worked in retail we keep things behind the desk that people find in the store..keys...wallets anything. That could be your first step. If that doesn't work, you just need to be honest with your parents. No one is perfect and I am sure they have lost things as well, maybe even over 50 dollars. We all make mistakes and the best thing to do is be honest. I'm sure they'll understand and recognize how bad you feel about it.

Just go to them and tell them, and offer them to repay the money. They, of course, will not take it. It is the thought that counts. And then, show them that next year if they buy you something nice, you will put a chain on it, lock it up or do whatever you can to keep it with you.
This is such a good lesson to learn at your age. We all take things for granted, and now you know how easily things slip out of pockets, or people step into your car and take a gift that was on the backseat and not in the trunk. At my age, I'm still learning, so don't beat yourself up. I think $50 is a cheap lesson learned, and you will always remember this time in your life. Lessons learned this early are priceless.

Now, go hug mom and dad and then tell them you have learned a valuable lesson. THEN, tell them what happened and how you will be sure to be more careful from now on.

And here's a hug. I know you feel bad, but this is fixable.

Aww that is too bad!

Speaking as a parent, though, I really wouldn't want you to be stressing about this as much as you are - it's only money, and your feelings are more important.

I'm so sorry this happened to you.

If you drove yourself, check between your car seat and the door, the car seat and the console, and under the car seat.

And I know this might sound a little nutty, but Catholics believe in asking St. Anthony to help them find things -- and this has worked so many times for me, even though I'm not even Catholic. Say this prayer:

Tony, Tony, come around, something's lost and must be found.

You might be surprised at what you remember about where that thing could be!!

Relax and don't panic. I sooner you tell them the easier it's going to be. They might be upset but if you lost it ...it was by accident and unintentional. They may have seen it in the house. Just relax if you are not in a panic state of mind you may find it.

Retrace your steps and call the stores or places as to where to were to see if it has been returned in their lost and found.

well, i lose stuff everyday. i can't find my wallet right now, but we're not talking about me. you could retrace your steps. that never works for me. just tell you mom/dad. they'll understand. there your parents. they love you. check to see if you have a whole in your pocket. it might be in the car. did you listen to it when you were in the car?

the faster you tell them with or without 50 bucks, the more likely they wont blow up.

First thing...work on your spelling and grammar.

Second thing...tell them that you'll work around the house or something to "pay" them back!!

Good luck!!
